Leo Coffee was founded in 1910 by PRK Nadar, the enterprising pioneer of coffee plantations. He gave the coffee-loving South Indians the gift of Leo Coffee.
He set exceedingly high standards for cultivation and worked tirelessly with a dedicated team of skilled growers. Our association with uncompromising quality started with him.

How we do it
The purity and quality of our bean has earned itself a loyal following that grows with each year. It is primarily due to our plantation experts carefully monitoring the quality at every step of the process - right from bean to bag.
The coffee plants grow under an umbrella of trees.
This type of cultivation is based on the principles of natural ecology and is considered as a branch of agroforestry. In simpler words, we grow coffee the way nature intended it to.
The coffee plants grown in unshaded farms have a negative impact on the environment as they require high input of chemical fertilisers and pesticides.
Traditional wet process for the superior bean..
We follow a multi-step wet process or wash method for processing our coffee. The beans go through soaking, pulping, fermenting, washing, drying, hulling and grading. It's an arduous task but an important one to give the coffee an incredible taste and invigorating aroma.
This gives us an opportunity to weed out the bad berries from the good ones. This method requires specialised equipment and sufficient water for which yields high quality coffee beans with a distinctive flavour that any Leo Coffee patron can indulge in.
Our primary businesses concentrate on supplying freshly ground coffee to the customer directly because, contrary to the popular notion, the flavour and aroma of ground and packed coffee can last only upto 7-10 days.
Coffee seeds are roasted to perfection in our state-of-the-art factory and are brought to the company owned coffee houses which are conveniently located in various parts of Chennai.
We custom grind coffee using German grinders and pack it in the presence of our customer so that the freshness and aroma are retained. And watching fresh coffee beans being ground in front of their eyes always brings a smile on the face of our customers.
We also cater to specific customized blends for our customers.
